Sterling Silver Textured St Christopher Pendant Necklace Mid-Century c1950

Lovely and unusual sterling silver pendant of a very unusual St Christopher with gorgeous textured detailing  - a very rare coin with a unique history. The patron saint of travellers, St Christopher is here depicted carrying a child on his back across a river to safety, legend states this child was revealed to be Jesus Christ. A popular option for an accessory, this style of pendant was traditionally worn to protect travellers and has now evolved into a stylish and thoughtful piece of jewellery.  In excellent condition, this item would be a wonderful themed gift for a loved one or friend.
