Early Sterling Silver, Turquoise Armorial Seal Wax Holder or 'Bodkin Case' Antique c17th Century
Description
Details: A fantastic and wonderfully designed antique likely 17th century or earlier travelling wax holder case with superb armorial crest to the base and turquoise stone set button to open the item. The wax holder is in remarkably good condition for what resembles a possible medieval item. Stamped with a singular flower punch mark to the back edge possibly representative of a town assay or makers punch however we have been unable to identify the marks. The silver has been XRF tested please refer to pictures for breakdown. This is a speculative and interesting item - please let us know if you have any further information that can help us provide more informed listing. This is a wonderful item that would make a perfect gift or addition to any collection. We are more than happy to provide XRF reports for items upon request.
